City of Antwerp

"Antwerp breathes fashion, it is the home of the world famous Antwerp Six and the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts. In the city of the Scheldt, you can stroll through the cosy streets and neighbourhoods where ready-to-wear and high street go hand in hand. Less visible is the huge fashion industry with designers and every possible supporting function. Fashion is also business in Antwerp. Therefore, we are delighted to welcome the second edition of a significant event like Fashion Talks in Antwerp." (Caroline Bastiaens, alderman for economy, city of Antwerp)

"ANTWERP. POWERED BY CREATIVES. is a collaboration platform in the province of Antwerp that strives to create surplus value in the creative industry and to stimulate cross-pollination between the creative and other industries. An event like Fashion Talks is the perfect occasion to focus on cross-pollinations with the fashion industry because of the very varied line-up and the different approaches used in the programme." (ANTWERP. POWERED BY CREATIVES. is a collaboration between the Province of Antwerp, the City of Antwerp, de Winkelhaak, the University of Antwerp, Antwerp Management School, Sint-Lucas Antwerp and the KdG University College)

Creamoda

"Belgian fashion is loved but not well known. This is confirmed by a survey conducted with 2000 Belgians by Creamoda, the Belgian fashion federation. With this survey, we want to give Belgian fashion a boost and create more visibility for our brands and manufacturers. The Belgian wants to get to know Belgian brands, but we have to help the consumer with it. Fashion Talks is an interesting meeting place for these kinds of discussions." (Wendy Luyckx, Creamoda)

"Our manufacturers play a crucial role in the Belgian fashion landscape. We are proud of what they do and what they accomplish. Fashion Talks is a valuable platform where we, via our Meet the Makers initiative, can bring young designers into contact with our Belgian 'makers'." (Jo Van Landeghem, Creamoda)

OVAM

"'Sustainable fashion' is not a new concept anymore in the fashion and textile industry. The consumer increasingly chooses quality and long lifespan and our planet is screaming for solutions. Today, there are beautiful designs that take these ideas into account. Fashion Talks is the perfect event to showcase a few of the pioneers in this industry and to connect the right people. Together with Flanders DC, OVAM wants to support and guide designers and entrepreneurs in their search for the creation of sustainable designs." (Evelyn Lafond, policy officer ecodesign)

ING

"ING is an international bank with strong regional accents. In every region, we identify the most important environments. In Antwerp this means, among others, the fashion industry and as a financial institution, we try to support this ecosystem. The partnership with Flanders DC's Fashion Talks, a wonderful event that brings people together from every corner of the industry, matches that strategy seamlessly." (Ellen Aelvoet, zone directeur Antwerpen ING)
